Cabinet refacing vs replacing

Refacing keeps your existing boxes and replaces the doors, drawer fronts and visible veneer. It costs about half of new cabinets and takes days, not weeks.

When refacing works

The boxes must be solid and the layout must already work. If you want to move the sink or add an island, new cabinets are the better spend.

When to replace

Water damage, sagging shelves or a layout that fights you every day are all reasons to start over.
