Most custom cabinet projects take 6 to 12 weeks from final approval to installation. Here is how that time breaks down stage by stage, and what can speed things up or slow them down.
The Custom Cabinet Timeline
Every custom kitchen is different, but the overall schedule follows the same six stages. Knowing the typical duration of each stage helps you plan demolition, appliance deliveries, and move-in dates.
We meet in your home or at our Saskatoon showroom to review your goals, measure the space, and identify structural details like soffits, plumbing, and electrical. Decisions made here set the pace for everything that follows.
Your designer produces measured drawings, 3D renderings, and a cabinet layout. We refine door style, finishes, hardware, storage accessories, and workflow. Revisions during this stage are normal; faster feedback keeps the schedule moving.
Once the design is finalized, we prepare a fixed, itemized estimate. You approve the scope, materials, and finishes so we can order long-lead items such as specialty hardware, countertops, and appliances.
We finalize construction drawings, order materials, and coordinate any required trades or permits. Countertop templating and appliance lead times are confirmed now so they arrive when fabrication is complete.
Your cabinets are built in our shop by the same team that measured the space. Standard sizes and finishes move faster; highly custom details, imported materials, or complex millwork can extend this window.
Our installers place, level, and finish every piece on site over several days. We walk through the completed kitchen with you, make final adjustments, and hand over care instructions so you know how to protect the finish.
Whether you're ready to begin or simply gathering ideas, we'd love to hear about your project. Book a consultation and let's talk about your space.
